provvio 1.1.5 is Live on iOS and Android: What's New
provvio Team
April 27, 2026
Quick one. Both provvio mobile apps are now live in the public app stores. iOS on the App Store, Android on Google Play, version 1.1.5. If you've been running your crew on the web app, this is the moment to get them onto mobile.
Why This Matters
Web works fine for office staff and admins. But for field crews, the mobile experience is the difference between a check-in being a frictionless one-tap moment and being something they avoid because it's annoying. We've been hearing this from early users for months, and 1.1.5 is the version where the gap finally closes.
Native iOS and Android apps mean:
- Camera-first photo capture instead of a browser shim - photos are sharper and faster to take
- Reliable GPS check-ins, even when the screen is locked or the app is backgrounded
- Proper push notifications for shift starts, missed check-ins, and client updates
- Lower battery use across a full day in the field
- Less data, important for crews on cellular all day
If a crew member has been resisting the workflow because "the app is slow on my phone," 1.1.5 is the version to put in their hand.
What's In the Release
The headline changes in 1.1.5:
- Faster check-in flow. The screen between "open app" and "GPS-verified check-in" is now genuinely one tap on both platforms.
- Smarter offline handling. Photos and check-ins captured without signal now sync cleanly when reception comes back, with no duplicate visits or lost data.
- Improved checklist UX. Bigger tap targets, clearer required-item indicators, and faster scrolling on long checklists.
- Native camera integration on both platforms. No more browser-style camera shims. Faster capture, better focus, sharper images.
- Battery and performance fixes. A full shift now uses noticeably less battery than it did in earlier versions.
If you're already running an earlier version, the apps will auto-update through the stores in the next day or two, or you can update manually now.
Getting Your Crew On It
Three steps, total time around five minutes per person:
- Send each crew member their invite from the web admin (Team page, "Invite member")
- They install provvio from the App Store or Google Play - it's the only provvio result, search "provvio"
- They sign in with the same credentials they use on the web app and they're done
For crews moving from paper or WhatsApp, we'd suggest doing a 5-minute walk-through of the check-in flow on day one. After that, most field workers have it down and stop needing reminders. We've put together a short setup guide for crew leads to send out.
What's Next
The roadmap from here is mostly about polish and depth, not major new flows. Expect the next few mobile releases to focus on:
- Faster sync of large photo batches on slow connections
- Improved navigation between today's jobs, the schedule, and recent visits
- Tighter integration with the client portal, so crews can preview what the client sees of their work
- Localisation improvements for crews working across regions
