Portal Access Management
Enable, disable, and reset portal passwords
Note: The client portal is available on Pro.
You have full control over who can access the portal and when.
Disabling Portal Access for a Client
- Go to Clients
- Open the client
- Toggle Portal Access off
All contacts under that client lose portal access. No data is deleted - re-enable it later and access returns.
Disabling Portal Access for a Contact
- Go to Clients and open the client
- Edit the contact
- Toggle Portal Access off
This revokes only that one person's access.
Resetting a Portal Password
If a client contact has forgotten their password:
- The contact can use Forgot Password on the portal login page
- An admin can also set a new password by editing the contact and clicking Set New Portal Password
Removing Portal Access Completely
Either disable portal access for the contact, or remove them from the client's contacts entirely.
Tips
- Review portal access periodically - remove access for contacts who have left the client's company
- If a client relationship ends, disable portal access for the whole client record
- Encourage clients to use Forgot Password rather than sharing logins
