Checking In to a Job

GPS capture and starting a visit

Checking in is how you start a visit at a site. provvio captures your GPS location and the time to create a verified record of your arrival.

Two Ways to Check In

From a Scheduled Job:

  1. Go to Schedule or check your notifications
  2. Find the job for today
  3. Tap on it to open the job details
  4. Tap Check In to start your visit

Quick Check-In (Ad-hoc visits):

  1. Open the provvio app
  2. Tap Quick Check-In
  3. Choose the site you're visiting from the list
  4. Tap Check In
  5. Allow location access if prompted
  6. provvio records your GPS location and start time

The Quick Check-In feature is perfect for unscheduled visits, emergency calls, or when you need to make an extra visit that wasn't originally planned.

GPS Verification

When you check in, provvio compares your current GPS location with the site's address. This provides proof that you were physically at the location.

  • A green badge means your location matches the site
  • An orange badge means you're nearby but not exactly at the site address
  • Your exact coordinates and distance from the site are recorded

Tip: Make sure location services are enabled on your device for accurate GPS capture.

What Happens After Check-In

Once you've checked in:

  • A visit record is created with your arrival time and location
  • Any assigned checklists for that site become available to complete
  • The visit timer starts running
  • Your team and admins can see that you're on-site

Tips

  • Check in as soon as you arrive: this gives the most accurate arrival time
  • If GPS isn't working, make sure you're outdoors or near a window for better signal
  • You can only be checked in to one site at a time
