Taking Photos
Photo evidence during visits, including categories
Photos are a key part of proof-of-service. They give your clients confidence in your service quality and protect you when there's a dispute about what happened on a visit.
Three Kinds of Photos
provvio captures photos in three places:
- Checklist item photos - attached to a specific item, often required
- Before / after photos - paired shots on items that have *Require before/after photos* on
- General visit photos - free-form photos attached to the visit, organised by category
Photo Categories: Before / During / After
When you add a general visit photo (not tied to a checklist item), you pick a category:
- Before - what you walked in to
- During - work in progress
- After - the result
These categories are shown in PDF reports and in the client portal so the work tells a clear story.
How to Take Photos
From a checklist item:
- Tap the checklist item
- Tap the camera icon
- Take a photo (or pick one from the gallery if you forgot to capture it live)
- The photo is automatically attached to that item
From the visit (general photos):
- While checked in, open the Photos section of the visit
- Choose the category (Before, During, After)
- Tap the camera icon and capture the shot
Photo Quality Tips
- Make sure the area is well-lit
- Hold your phone steady
- Capture the full area, not just a close-up
- Take *before* shots before you start - it's easy to forget once you're working
- Include identifying features (room numbers, signs) when relevant
Where Photos Appear
Photos taken during a visit show up in:
- The visit record on the dashboard
- PDF reports sent to clients
- The client portal (Pro plan)
Storage
All photos are stored securely in the cloud and linked to the visit record. They're available for as long as your account is active. Photos are automatically timestamped and (when location is available) GPS-tagged.
