Reminders and completion SMS for US clients (Pro)

Note: SMS is available on Pro for US-based organisations after completing A2P 10DLC verification.

provvio can send SMS reminders before scheduled visits and completion messages when a visit wraps up. It's a simple way to keep clients informed without leaning on email.

A2P 10DLC Consent

US carriers require A2P 10DLC verification for any application-to-person SMS. Before SMS turns on:

  1. Visit /sms-consent
  2. Complete the consent and verification flow
  3. Once approved, SMS settings unlock in your organisation

You only need to do this once. Without it, SMS settings remain disabled even on Pro.

Reminder SMS

Reminders are sent to opted-in site contacts ahead of scheduled visits. Choose the lead time in Settings → Notifications:

  • 2 hours
  • 12 hours
  • 24 hours
  • 48 hours

The reminder uses your branded message template.

Completion SMS

Completion messages go out shortly after check-out, to opted-in site contacts. If the client portal is enabled, the message includes a link straight to the visit in the portal so the client can see proof immediately.

Per-Contact Opt-In and Opt-Out

Each site contact has their own toggles:

  • Reminder SMS - opt in/out per contact
  • Completion SMS - opt in/out per contact

If a contact replies STOP to any SMS, provvio records the opt-out and stops sending - no further SMS goes to that number on any flow. Re-enable manually only with explicit re-consent.

Where to Configure

  • Org-wide reminder hours: Settings → Notifications
  • Per-contact opt-in: Sites → Site Contacts → contact toggles
  • A2P verification: /sms-consent

Tips

  • Set reminder hours that match your client expectations - 24 hours works for most service businesses
  • Keep templates short - the SMS character budget is real
  • Review SMS delivery logs in Settings → Notifications to spot failures early
